| April 13th Update PLEASE OPPOSE AB 509. SUPPORT SB 396 Nevada Legislative Web Page (www.leg.state.nv.us) has know created a new web stateweb page that will let the public express opinions on proposed bills. It will tally calls of opposed & in favor of legislation with a page that lets a person write down their opinions. Responses will be automatically tabulated & legislators will be able to access the results & view responses. On the front page of the NV Legislative Webpage (www.leg.state.nv.us) under NEW, click on "Give Your Opinion on Bill!! It is an excellent way of voicing opinions that can't be ignored by all the legislators and will educate our legislators. OPPOSE AB 509 We strongly recommend that Nevadans OPPOSE AB 590 which will likely be coming up for a vote in the NV Assembly floor. This bill, if passed, will be a great financial burden not only to Nevada taxpayers but to all our nation's taxpayer to legally fight this bill. It is in violation of the federal law & my understanding it that federal law supersedes state/county laws. Suits will prevails against this bill. But, most of all, it will allow counties, etc. to gather wild horses & take them to slaughter for profit. Amendments have been made, but it simply does not change the intent---to inhumanely get rid of wild horses for profit. PLEASE OPPOSE AB 509. SUPPORT SB 396 SUPPORT SB 396 is the Felony bill that will make it a felony crime for killing livestock & wild horses and increases penalties for crimes against service animals, such as police dogs & guide dogs & other animals. REMEMBER THE VIRGINIA RANGES WILD HORSES THAT WERE SLAUGHTER over the 1998 Christmas holidays. Let's not let them die in vain. SB 396 passed the Senate unanimously. Now it must go thru the Assembly.
