GH Royal Windsong

In my dreams I see you swinging from beneath the helicopter the day of the mudslide in '83.   I wake up crying.    Then I see your picture on the wall and know we both survived the mudslide.

I gave you to Susan as I did not have time to give you the therapy you needed for your injuries. That was one of my better decisions as you went on to win for her, leadliners, and walktrotters. You competed in endurance rides and shows all over the United States and Canada. You brought smiles and joy to many people.

I remember the night when Susan put you down because you had broken your leg. I cried then and I cry every time I drive by your pasture and only see your buddies and not you. I miss you at every endurance ride and every show. I know that I am not the only one.

You are now with all my friends that have gone on before. I think of you, Boomer and the rest, remembering the rides, the awards and our friendship. You were a miracle to survive that day to go on to be a champion. When I am down, I think of you for hope and strength.
Happy Trails, Windy.
