October 1998 - Ft.
Churchill State Park in Nevada is building eight miles of trail along the Carson River to
connect Ft. Churchill and Lahontan State Recreation Area. This trail will open up a vast
amount of land to non-motorized use. Eric Johnson of Ft. Churchill is requesting
assistance in building this trail.
Any group or individual that is interested in volunteering to work on this project should
call him at (775) 577-2345. He has indicated that the park is keeping track of the types
of groups that are working and that the type of users that volunteer the most will have
the most say in future developments. Now is the time for horsemen/horsewomen to come
forward and be counted.
