11/18/98 - Bingham Farms, Michigan, attorney Julie I. Fershtman was the recipient of the 1998 "Outstanding Achievement" Award from the American Riding Instructors Association at its National Riding Instructor Seminar in Cherry Hill New Jersey on November 16, 1998.

Founded in 1984, the American Riding Instructors Association provides the American Riding Instructor Certification Program (ARICP), which certifies riding instructors in virtually all teaching specialties. Instructors are awarded a certification after successfully completing a comprehensive testing process and who teach in a safe, competent, and professional manner. Fershtman was honored for her dedication to the equine industry and for volunteering considerable time to worthwhile equine industry organizations.

She is the author of the nationally acclaimed book, Equine Law & Horse Sense.

The author of a syndicated monthly equine law column, she is also the LegalConsultant to EQUUS Magazine and Ask the Expert Legal Consultant for Horse & Rider and Practical Horseman magazines. Her speaking engagements in 1999 include Equitana and the American Morgan Horse Association National Convention.

Fershtman focuses her law practice on equine law, business disputes, and employment matters. She represents individuals and businesses throughout the United States.
