The Mourning of Murdered MustangsThese three vandals
are our Nations disgrace. They have destroyed and littered a great symbol of freedom over
our land and gloating about it. Such unprovoked madness, taking pleasure in striking pure
fear and pain in a sadistic unquenchable thirst for creating suffering and death; they
should NOT be allowed to walk openly on our streets, around our homes where other animals,
and especially innocent children, could be easily targeted next in some sick way. I am
sure with their immoral hearts it would only be a matterof time.
This reckless unleashed sickness MUST cease under a cherished
memorial which stands for a priceless piece of history and beauty in the world of nature,
in which God gave us to appreciate and respect. Think about it. How these wildhorses had
been tamed to help humankind...helped us to be where we are today.
And in their own loss of
freedom and life, working as hard as our ancestors did, horses played a big part in the
building of this country. Having a horse meant survival to a lot of people. Is this how we
should allow them to be treated now that our need is not so crucial?
What is left of the natural wild horses is their own struggle to
survive through harsh weather, thirst, hunger, bearing foals, suffering natural illnesses,
injuries and dangers only to have been shot down in cold blooded murder (some in foal),
some trying desperately to reach safety, only to collapse miles away in total
bewilderment, bleeding to death, suffering with fractured bones and torn organs, after
being maimed and tortured for the sport of it.
This tempest trio of mindless fools must pay their dues. They should
be stripped, flogged in public and imprisoned. I hope that for these three, absolutely no
less than a year for each of the horses that they maimed/killed, including a year for each
and every unborn foal lost in this tragedy.
Laws MUST be changed to protect the next vulnerable victim(s) and not condone this
behavior with a small fine and a slap on the hand. Perhaps the United States should adapt
similar punishment of other countries when dealing with such rampant evil to keep it from
spawning.

I currently own and breed horses and find it appalling that
anyone would even think about doing something of this nature. I don't believe that a horse
would attack someone unless provoked, therefore to shoot them would be inhumane, wrong,
and "CRIMINAL". And if military personnel are involved, I would hope the
commanders would severely punish them as well. Being a veteran myself, I still believe in
honor and what the American flag stands for. I also believe that we are to lead by
example. The question one of the letters posed, "... what if it were their child or
family ...", I think this says it well!!

As a previous horse owner I'm outraged and sickened how the State of Neveda protects their
Wild Life. Sometimes the only thing Legestrators understand is the value of money. Maybe
if we cut out money or funding that comes into Neveda through Ranching, and Tourism
somebody will wake up and understand that protecting All WILD LIFE is important to their
states economey. The media of my State of Connecticut is not aware of the situation of
what happened, If the news media for television was advised of the situation, many people
would speak out against this crime. Maybe the ranchers need to have a boycout against them
to wake them up. Maybe tourism needs to be affected for less money coming into the State.
Some of what I'm suggesting could I Know Hurt a lot of innocent people, BUT what about
those animals that suffered cruelty and indignity from those selfish humans who killed
them. D.D. |

We are so outraged,as are so many, by the killing of the wild horses. We have recently
moved to the Gardnerville foothills area from Oregon. Our two "boy's' are still in
Oregon untill this spring. We can't wait to get them here and I know we will use this
sight a lot. Bill & Diane...Magied@aol.com |

This is my first time ever visiting this page, but I got an email to take a look at it for
an update on the 35 wild horse killed in Nevada, I hope to god whoever did that gets
caught and severely punished. That is the sickest thing to do in this world, to kill an
innocent living being for your own pleasure. I live in Nebraska, not real near Nevada but
being a horse lover my entire life, whoever did this horrible act, should burn in hell,
Excuse me, but that's how I feel.. Reading the poem and the essay about those horses makes
it more a reality, if you take time to actually think about it, it's sad and just
sickening. Those who did it, should basically put themselves in the "shoes" of
those innocent animals, what if it was the other way around, what if it was one of their
children or family members, ya know... Stuff like this just irks me to no end. Looking
forward to seeing what other's think anyone interested in sharing their views with me,
email me at Equinox_MDM@Hotmail.com Thanks. |
