He underwent surgery in September of 1997 at UC Davis.  After four months of treatment and being"off," on August 29, 1997, Riley traveled to Davis where the medical team discovered he had a broken seasamoid bone.   They operated and he then had to begin the slow recovery process, which included therapy and hand walking.   We are proud to say that he is getting better each day. 

Riley loves to jump and show, but right now he is just "being a horse."

He finally had his first turn alone in March of 1998 out in a 100' x 80' arena - he was in heaven.
