Distance from
Reno is approximately 130 miles to camp.
Highway 80 to Wadsworth, HWY 447, turn left (North) to Pyramid Lake via
Nixon and continue north to Gerlach. Wadsworth to Gerlach about 70 miles.
Last chance for gas and snacks.
Drive through Gerlach to road fork, about one half mile north of town, take right fork. Go
about 10 paved miles to Soldier Meadows Road on right. Turn right on dirt road, this road
usually
has a sign on it.
Go approx.18 miles on this dirt road, you will see a Humboldt County sign on the right,
the road to base camp is about a half a mile past this sign, turn right, drive a quarter
of a mile to Ride Camp.
When you leave Gerlach, the flat bare desert on your right all the way, is the Playa we
will ride across in the moonlight. The menu has been decided for the 1998 Black Rock
Moonlight Ride, BBQ, and Buckaroo Breakfast. Chef John Collier will provide
