Because of the wet and late spring this year, we are going to change our routine this summer, and go adventuring in the Pine Nut Mountains, in what is usually the hot time of early July. This year we expect the Pine Nuts to be lush, green, beautiful and luxuriously warm, maybe into August. Celebrate three days of horseback
exploring Despite its proximity to suburbia, this country which hides the ghostly old mining town of Como way up on its back at the end of the roughest 12 miles of dirt and rock east of the Kit Kat whorehouse is high, wide, and, lots of times, wonderfully lonesome. If you've got a horse that can walk up and down mountains, get through the rocks without stumbling too often, and go for a while between drinks, we invite you to come along. If your horse doesn't qualify, ride one of ours, but let us know soon if you need one. We only have a few. If you don't have a horse at all, but can ride some, we've got one for you. We'll be camping for three days with our outfit just south of Dayton, Nevada, July 4th, 5th, and 6th on a bench overlooking the canyon.
CAMPING IS FREE..........THE RIDES WITH LUNCH, COST. RIDE YOUR OWN HORSE...$20.00 PER DAY, Camping is self-contained and there is no immediate water, but the creek is a 10 minute ride away. Bring some horse water if you are lazy like us. If everybody brings a little wood, we can have a nightly campfire. (BLM restrictions permitting.) Let us know and send some dough by SUNDAY JUNE 28, if you're rifing with us and our friends. If not, too bad for you! The mountains won't last forever. TODAY'S COUNTRY IS TOMORROW'S CONDOMINIUMS!
