Patti Lowry-Parrish
Patti's Story "I've always been an artist."
Patti Lowry-Parrish has had
many careers, but has always been an artist at heart.
She attended Chaunaerd Art Institute in Los Angeles in the early 50s and along the way has
taken other courses in fine art and water colors at Tahoe College. Most of Patti's
painting and drawing comes from the heart. She comes from a family of artists, she
had a pencil or painting in her hands from childhood.
With a love of horses, cats, barns and landscapes - she has fashioned many of her
paintings into those categories, including some greeting cards she sells.
Starting her career at General Telephone an and artist in the 60s, she went on to owning
and running a company that included the advertising. She then purchased a flower
shop in 1985, opening even more doors for creation for Patti.
When "retirement" started looking good to Patti, she sold the shop and moved to
NE Texas to pursue a life of painting. But Patti just can't seem to stop working and
she opened a cappuccino bar in Mt. Pleasants at Tetus Co. Regional Hospital. With only 3
days a week of work - she says that leaves her lots of time to pursue her true love
- painting.
Patti is also the horsereview's
cartoonist and illustrator. Look for her work weekly - and throughout the site. |
