Key Findings per CommerceNet/Nelson Media:

The population of Internet users has more than doubled since the first CommerceNet/Nelson Media Internet Demographics Survey was released in Fall of 1995.
The report also found that women are increasingly using the Internet, now accounting for 42 percent of users.
Shopping is one of the most popular activities on the Internet... a large number of Web users, 73%, spend some portion of their time online searching for more information about a specific product or service.
