ANSWER:
First, check with your veterinarian about your horse's nutritional and health concerns.
Typically your horse needs a regular schedule of vaccinations and worming, especially if
showing and/or traveling to different areas. Your vet can advise you. It is also possible
depending on your concerns that a physical might be needed to evaluate your horse's
current condition. To skimp here can be a false savings and may actually not only cost you
more in the long run but risk losing your horse.
Second, talk with your feed store staff. They may have suggestions
that are worth trying. Horse hay and animal feed is their business. They also receive
feedback on new products used by their customers in addition to info from dealer
representatives. If they don't have something you want, ASK! They may be able to order for
you and other customers may be interested as well.
